Testimonials

We keep a database of all the chimneys we have cleaned and serviced since 1979. When you call, have us check to see if we’ve ever done work at your house. Over the years, we’ve cleaned and repaired thousands of chimneys. Here are a few notes we’ve received from our customers:

“It was well worth the fee for your inspection to receive all of the advice & thorough instructions on the proper use of our fireplace. Thanks to you we are enjoying a nice hot fire on this cold night, without smoking up or smelling up our living room like before. Thank you for your honest inspection, evaluation, and the matching chimney cap. You were all so very kind, careful, and respectful, and it will be a pleasure to recommend you.”
— G. Franke, Maplewood

“I called your company about a year ago with questions regarding my fireplace. Tess was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and overall so pleasant to speak to. When you came out more recently to clean my fireplace, your workers were super clean and took great care with the set up and breakdown of their tools needed to clean my fireplace. You can tell that there is a 'meticulous' way you train your workers to do this. I can't thank you enough for servicing my chimney, but also for taking the time to teach me how to build a fire. Great experience from start to finish with Village Sweep.”
— M.T., Mountainside

“Wonderful! We had one of the “fly by night” companies who called on the phone all the time and who did a terrible job. Your company is very reassuring.”
— N. Cox, New Providence

“We had David and his team cleaning our chimney on Saturday and we just wanted to say 'Thank you for your fantastic service'. Not only was everybody involved in this appointment (from booking it to the actual cleaning of the chimney) an absolute pleasure to deal with, but we felt like David and his team treated our house as carefully as if it was their own.  We have white rugs and sofas in the living room and very delicate wooden floors throughout the house. Not a stain or scratch, everybody worked very neatly, consciously and professionally. On top of that we received a lot of information and were invitged to watch the job being one and ask all the questions we could think of. We are very pleased and felt well taken care of. Thanks again!”
— G. Dolan, Chatham Borough

“Top quality work and very knowledgeable. I would recommend your company highly!”
— J. Musso, Fanwood

“As always, professional, honest & respectable.”
— R. & L. Imbesi, Cranford

“Very impressed with the men who repaired the chimney and installed caps. They were extremely courteous and I am pleased with the results. Will recommend Village Sweep to my friends.”
— J. Fowler, Short Hills

“David himself and his two assistants did a complete inspection and thankfully found no issues. I have to say, I highly recommend them if you're ever in need of the same. They're local, and, as always, are fair-priced, on time, extremely customer-service oriented, honest and thorough in everything they do--from scheduling, getting questions answered and doing the work. They're on Angie's List and have straight 'A' ratings (rightly so).”
— Salvatore Borruso

“I wanted to write you and let you know of my success from your advice. I was unable to use my fireplace due to smoke that would fill my first floor. I took your advice. . . I primed the chimney with the sheet of newspaper which I had never done before and I built the upside down fire as you had suggested as well. I have to say I was extremely excited to say it worked like a charm. It's truly amazing what some good advice from people who truly care and look out for the homeowner's best interests can do. It was the best money ever spent. I can't thank you all enough.”
— D. Keller, Scotch Plains

“I highly recommend Village Sweep. They have always been fair, honest and extremely helpful with our chimney problems. They are the best!”
— Laura, Summit

A Word of Caution

One word of advice, be cautious about telemarketers that try to sell their service over the phone. Usually, they identify themselves as “the chimney sweep” who claims to have serviced your chimney. Beware! Scam artists have discovered that chimneys are a hot item. (Sorry about the pun.)
